5 Best Breakfast Spots in Ocean City

Looking for a good breakfast spot while you are visiting Ocean City, MD?  Below are five of my favorites that consistently turn out great food and provide good service.  Hours will vary based on seasonality so check their websites before heading out.  Enjoy!

Barn 34

Barn 34 is located on the oceanside of 34th Street.  They offer an extensive breakfast menu that is served until 1:30pm.  The menu includes all of the customary breakfast staples, as well as local highlights such as Captain Crunch French Toast, Crab Cake Benedict and Sweet Potato Pancakes.  Barn 34 is very popular so get there early or be prepared for a short wait.

Laytons

Layton’s on the oceanside of 92nd Street has been an Ocean City staple for over 40 years.  They are famous for their fresh made donuts that are out of this world!  In addition they offer a full breakfast menu that is highlighted by Captain Cook’s Croissant Scramble (eggs, peppers and ham stuffed in a flaky croissant), the Hungryman’s Griddle (eggs, peppers, hash browns and sausage covered in sausage gravy) and Acai Bowls.  Layton’s food quality and service are always good.

Malia's Cafe

My favorite spot on the list.  Malia’s Cafe is located just off the boardwalk on the oceanside of 18th Street.  They have a full breakfast menu and specialize in omelettes.  A few of the local highlights include Huevos Rancheros (tortillas, eggs, beans, cheese and avocado) and the Health Nut French Toast (bananas, raisins, peanut butter, granola and honey).  Consistently good food and great service.

Bad Monkey

Bad Monkey, the self proclaimed home of “beautiful breakfast” is located on the bayside of 58th Street in Ocean City.  Bad Monkey offers all of the breakfast staples, as well as many unique dishes like the Cold Brew Crepes (crepes stuffed with a nutella and cream cheese filling), Sunny Side of the Bay (lump crab over chorizo hash) and Breakfast Tacos.  Quality ingredients are used throughout the menu and it really shows through in the flavors.

Dough Roller

The Dough Roller has been an Ocean City institution for over 40 years with various locations throughout Ocean City and the boardwalk.  Nothing fancy at the Dough Roller, just consistently good food and service.  They do give you the option of pancakes with every entree, which I think is awesome.
